Valeggio sul Mincio is a charming town in the province of Verona, situated on the gentle hills of Lake Garda. It is in a perfect position to get to the Lake in just a few minutes, and has nearby attractions such as Gardaland, the Safari Zoo Park, Movieland, the hot-springs of Colà di Lazise and much more. It is the perfect base for visiting the beautiful art cities of Verona and Mantua.
The Mincio river runs through Valeggio which, along with the ruins of the medieval forts, gives the town a natural and ancient feel. From the hill it is possible to admire the beautiful Scaligero castle, which has been restored many times, without changing its medieval appearance. Valeggio is also famous for the beautiful gardens of Villa Sigurtà which cover an area of 600,000 square meters. It is considered one of the most visited marvels in the world today. The culinary tradition is also important: there are numerous restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Veronese dishes. The tortellini of Valeggio, also known as "Nodo d'Amore" (Love Knots) are famous throughout Italy. They are excellent in broth or melted butter.
